Mission & Vision

Our Mission

Summit Collegiate Academy: Sustainable Ecosystems & Civic Responsibility

The mission of Summit Collegiate Academy is to deliver a rigorous, opportunity-expanding, and globally relevant virtual learning system for students in grades 9–12. The school is designed to prepare students for college, career, and civic life through a STEAM-integrated curriculum, advanced coursework pathways, and structured supports that ensure accessibility, engagement, and measurable academic growth for all learners, including at-risk, ESE, and gifted students.

The Vision & Learning Ecosystem

Summit Collegiate Academy: Advanced Holographic Instructional Systems

The vision of Summit Collegiate Academy is to operate as a high-quality, school-run virtual charter school that serves as a model for innovative secondary education in Florida. The school envisions a pathway-based learning ecosystem in which students progress from foundational skill development to advanced application and synthesis through personalized instruction, biliteracy development, and project-based STEAM experiences. This vision is operationalized through evidence-based instructional, support, and governance systems that ensure both accessibility and accountability for outcomes.

Core Curriculum Meets Proprietary Instructional Strategies

To guarantee academic excellence across all digital classrooms, our model relies on a proven academic foundation delivered through specialized, research-driven systems that are currently in the process of being trademarked:

The FLVS Foundation (Core Curriculum)

Our academic core, utilizing the rigorous, state-approved Florida Virtual School curriculum to ensure standards-aligned comprehensive education. View our Course List at a Glance (PDF).

The S-UDLCD™ System (Supplemental Instructional Strategies)

The Strategic Universal Design for Learning Course Development (S-UDLCD™) System is made up of supplemental instructional strategies designed to enhance course delivery and student support. The system does not replace the core curriculum; rather, it operationalizes Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to support accessibility, flexibility, academic rigor, and differentiated instruction.

Students receive continuous coaching, intervention, progress monitoring, and academic support through the integrated S-UDLCD™ Narinesingh Coaching & Continuous Improvement Cycle (“NCIC”), a structured instructional support methodology designed to analyze student performance, guide interventions, monitor growth, and sustain academic achievement.

The S-UDLCD™ Narinesingh Taxonomy System (Instructional Scaffolding & Cognitive Complexity Tiers)

Instruction is scaffolded through the S-UDLCD™ Narinesingh Taxonomy System, which supports the progression of students from foundational understanding to advanced application, synthesis, innovation, and transformational learning experiences.

The system incorporates five Cognitive Complexity Tiers (CCT):

  1. Foundational Knowledge
  2. Conceptual & Analytical Understanding
  3. Practical Application & Instructional Excellence
  4. Strategic Innovation & Scholarly Synthesis
  5. Transformative Scholarly Impact & Institutional Leadership

The taxonomy system is designed to support instructional rigor, differentiated learning pathways, and higher-order thinking development across digital and blended learning environments.
